Steve Ortiz is a Managing Director and is Director of Equity Capital Markets.

Prior to joining JMP, Steve held equity capital markets roles at Banc of America Securities and its predecessor, Montgomery Securities, from 1991 to 2003, most recently as a Managing Director and U.S. Head of Equity Syndicate and Equity Capital Markets. Beforehand, Steve spent a total of four years at Hambrecht & Quist and Wedbush Morgan.

Steve holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.
