Kent Ledbetter

Head of Real Estate & Lodging Investment Banking
Kent Ledbetter is Director of Investment Banking and head of real estate and lodging investment banking at JMP Securities. In addition, he is a member of the executive committee of JMP Group.
Kent joined JMP Group in 2004 as a Managing Director. From 2007 through 2010, he served as Director of Corporate Finance. Prior to joining JMP, Kent was in the real estate investment banking group at Lehman Brothers, based in London and San Francisco. He was previously a Senior Vice President in real estate investment banking at PaineWebber Incorporated. During his 19-year career, Kent has been involved in more than $18 billion of public debt and equity capital raising transactions and more than $10 billion of domestic and international mergers and acquisitions.
Kent holds a BBA in finance from the University of Oklahoma.

Prior to joining JMP, Peter served as a Managing Director at Shattuck Hammond Partners specializing in all areas of the healthcare industry, including pharmaceuticals, distribution, biotechnology, medical technology and information technology. Peter previously spent four years as a Senior Managing Director at Montgomery Securities, now Banc of America Securities, where he was a member of the healthcare investment banking group. For the first ten years of his investment banking career, Peter held positions at JP Morgan and Lehman Brothers. Additionally, Peter was co-founder, President and COO of CornerHardware.com and is the author of a book on mergers and acquisitions.
Peter holds an MBA in finance from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business and a BS from Washington & Lee University.

Geoff previously spent two years as a member of Thomas Weisel Partners’ equity research department, most recently as a Vice President and research analyst covering IT security and financial technology. He also worked in the investment banking group at Montgomery Securities, focusing on financial services and financial technology clients. Before starting his career in investment banking, Geoff held marketing positions at the Walt Disney Company, Sybase, and Foote, Cone & Belding.

Bob Carey is a Managing Director and co-head of the healthcare investment banking group at JMP Securities.
Prior to joining JMP, Bob was a Managing Director in the healthcare investment banking group at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. Bob previously spent 12 years at Vector Securities International, where he was a Managing Director. Bob has also worked at Shearson Lehman Hutton and Ernst & Whinney.
Bob has a broad base of experience in the biotechnology, medical technology and life sciences sectors of the healthcare industry. Bob has assisted healthcare companies raise more than $3 billion in initial public offerings, follow-on offerings and private placements and has served as a financial advisor on more than $2 billion of merger, acquisition and strategic alliance transactions.

Bard Cook is a Managing Director and head of debt advisory services at JMP Securities.
Before joining JMP in 2009, Bard was a Managing Director at RBC Capital Markets, where he established its U.S. corporate debt business and held a number of senior positions in the firm’s high yield, private placement and debt capital markets groups. Bard was responsible for more than 175 debt financings at RBC, including 40 transactions as a bookrunner valued at more than $5 billion in total. Prior to joining RBC, Bard was employed by Mellon Bank, where he was responsible for its private placement division and held several positions in corporate banking.

Prior to joining JMP, Jon was a Managing Director in the investment banking division at Lehman Brothers, working with finance companies and depositories. Jon previously served as an Executive Director in the financial services group at UBS and spent eight years in investment banking at PaineWebber before its acquisition by UBS in 2000. During his career, he has worked with banks, thrifts and non-bank financial institutions, including mortgage lenders, consumer finance companies, commercial finance companies and specialty lenders such as business development companies and REITs.

Prior to joining JMP, Margery was a Managing Director at Beal Advisors, a boutique investment banking firm focused on the life sciences industry, where she specialized in mergers and acquisitions and private placements. She was previously an Executive Vice President and head of mergers and acquisitions at Paramount BioSciences, a biotechnology venture capital firm. Margery has also served as Vice President of Business Development at publicly traded Human Genome Sciences, Inc. and ImClone Systems Incorporated. Prior to entering the biotechnology industry, she spent seven years as an investment banker at Citigroup, where she was a Managing Director focused on the pharmaceuticals and chemicals industries. Earlier, she served as a Managing Director in mergers and acquisitions at Chase Manhattan Bank and as a Senior Vice President in investment banking at Lehman Brothers.

While at JMP, Thomas has worked with non-bank financial institutions in the commercial finance, consumer finance and mortgage sectors and has completed more than 100 capital raising transactions and strategic advisory assignments. Prior to joining JMP, Thomas was at NationsBanc Montgomery Securities, now Banc of America Securities, in the financial services group, focusing on corporate finance. From 1992 until 1996, Thomas served in Deutsche Bank’s corporate development group in Frankfurt, Germany, focusing on strategic planning and business development.

Dan previouslyworked for a total of nine years at Vector Securities and Prudential Vector Healthcare, where he was a Managing Director and Head of Healthcare Specialty Sales. He has also served as a Director in the healthcare investment banking group at Robert W. Baird and as a Vice President in institutional equities at DLJ Securities. Dan has over 25 years of equity capital markets experience, with an exclusive focus on the healthcare industry–in particular, the life sciences sector–for the past 19 years. He has assisted healthcare companies in raising more than $1.5 billion through PIPEs, registered direct offerings and private placements.

Jim Wilson is a Managing Director and is head of residential real estate investment banking at JMP Securities. Before joining the firm’s investment banking group, Jim was a senior research analyst covering the housing and real estate industries and served as JMP Securities’ Director of Research from 1999 to 2011.
Prior to joining JMP, Jim was a Managing Director and senior research analyst for four years at Jefferies & Company, where he covered REITs, homebuilders, manufactured housing and resort, vacation ownership and property-related service companies. From 1989 through 1996, Jim served as a senior research analyst in the real estate and building group at Montgomery Securities, now Banc of America Securities, completing his tenure there as a Managing Director. He previously worked in equity research at Sutro & Company following companies in the financial services, business services and real estate industries.
In 2011, Jim was ranked second among all stock pickers in the Real Estate category in the annual “Best on the Street” analyst survey conducted by The Wall Street Journal. In 2003 through 2006, he ranked each year as a top-five stock picker in the Home Construction category. In 2011, Jim also was ranked second for estimate accuracy in the Household Durables category in the annual FT/StarMine analyst poll. In 2009, he placed second in the Construction & Building Materials category in “The Best Brokerage Analysts” rankings compiled by Forbes.
