CEO, Harvest Capital Strategies
Joe Jolson co-founded JMP Group and is its Chief Executive Officer, the Chairman of its board of directors and a member of its executive committee. Additionally, he is Chief Executive Officer of asset management subsidiary Harvest Capital Strategies and is a portfolio manager of the Harvest Opportunity Partners II hedge fund strategy, which invests in the financial services and business services industries.
Joe was previously a Senior Managing Director and senior equity research analyst at Montgomery Securities, now Banc of America Securities. In 1984, he established Montgomery Securities’ non-bank financial services research group, covering California and regional thrifts, government-sponsored enterprises, specialty lenders and mortgage finance companies over the next 15 years. In 1989, he initiated the firm’s real estate practice; and, in 1994, he launched its auto services effort. Joe was a consulting research analyst at Fidelity Management and Research in 1983 and 1984 and at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette from 1980 through 1982, following the financial services industry as well as selected emerging growth companies in both instances.
Joe was named to Institutional Investor magazine’s All-America Research Team for ten consecutive years, between 1986 and 1995, for his coverage of the savings and loan industry and was also selected as an All-Star Analyst in the financial services category by The Wall Street Journal in 1996 and 1997. Additionally, he was ranked as a top-five thrift analyst by Greenwich Associates every year from 1985 through 1994.
Joe received an MBA with distinction from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA degree from Yale University.

Chairman, Harvest Capital Strategies
Craig Johnson is Vice Chairman of JMP Group and a member of its executive committee. He is also Chairman of Harvest Capital Strategies. Craig previously served as President of JMP Group, from 2007 through 2010, and as President of JMP Securities, from 2002 until 2007. He is co-portfolio manager of the JMP Masters fund.
Prior to joining JMP in 2002, Craig was a founding member of Saw Island Asset Advisors, an alternative investment firm specializing in hedge fund investments that was acquired by Harvest Capital Strategies in 2003. Craig spent twenty years, from 1980 through 2000, at Montgomery Securities and its successor, Banc of America Securities, most recently as director of global institutional sales and a member of the firm’s executive committee.
Craig holds a BA in economics from Stanford University.

KC Lynch is President and Chief Operating Officer of Harvest Capital Strategies.
Prior to joining Harvest Capital Strategies in 2008, KC was Chief Operating Officer at Pantera Capital Management, a global macro hedge fund, and was both Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Fort Mason Capital. KC previously served as an independent consultant to emerging hedge funds and held various management roles at J.P. Morgan Securities. He began his career at Andersen Consulting in the financial services industry group.
KC received a BS magna cum laude in business administration in finance and international management from Georgetown University.

Jackson W. Barber
Jack Barber joined Harvest Capital Strategies in 2003. He is a Managing Director and co-portfolio manager of the JMP Masters fund. Additionally, Jack is responsible for marketing and client development.
Prior to joining Harvest Capital Strategies, Jack was Chief Operating Officer of Barbary Coast Capital, a San Francisco-based long-short equity hedge fund. From 1995 through 2002, he was director of the managed accounts business and an equity portfolio manager in the private client group at Dresdner RCM Global Investors. He began his career in the securities industry as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs.
Jack holds a BA from Hampden-Sydney College.

Donald D. Destino
Don Destino joined Harvest Capital Strategies in 2009. He is a Managing Director and co-portfolio manager of the Harvest Opportunity Partners hedge fund strategy.
Don previously served as a portfolio manager in the public equities group at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. From 2003 through 2007, he was a Managing Director and senior research analyst at JMP Securities following the specialty finance industry. Beforehand, he served as an equity research analyst covering non-bank financial services at Banc of America Securities, from 2000 to 2003, and at Jefferies & Co., from 1997 through 1999.
Don holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and BA degrees in economics and sociology from the University of San Diego.

Jim Fowler joined Harvest Capital Strategies in 2007. He is a Managing Director and is co-portfolio manager of the Harvest Opportunity Partners hedge fund strategy.
From 2001 until 2007, Jim was a Managing Director and senior research analyst at JMP Securities covering the mortgage finance sector and, beginning in 2005, also served as Co-Director of Research. He was previously a Principal and senior research analyst at Thomas Weisel Partners, where he followed the financial technology sector. From 1995 through 1999, he was a Principal and senior research analyst in the equity research department at Montgomery Securities, now Banc of America Securities, following non-bank financial services companies. Additionally, Jim has extensive experience in the fixed income capital markets. Prior to joining Montgomery Securities, he was responsible for managing mortgage investments and mortgage trading positions at both Oppenheimer & Co. and Ocwen Financial Corporation.
In 2004, Jim was included in the annual “Best on the Street” analyst survey conducted by The Wall Street Journal, ranking second as a stock picker in both the real estate and the diversified financial services categories. In 2003 and 2001, he placed first and fifth, respectively, in the real estate category.
Mr. Fowler holds a BS degree in finance from Golden Gate University.
Laura HegartyManaging Director
Laura Hegarty joined Harvest Capital Strategies in 2009 and is a Managing Director with responsibility for marketing and client development.
From 2005 through 2009, Laura was a Director at Symphony Asset Management, where she led business development and marketing efforts in the U.S., Europe and Central and South America with emphasis on the firm’s alternative investment strategies. From 2000 through 2005, she served in a marketing role at Creedon Keller & Partners, managing all aspects of investor communications and coordinating an asset raising campaign centered on the firm’s convertible arbitrage hedge funds.
Laura holds BA in communications from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Kurt King joined Harvest Capital Strategies in 2004. He is a Managing Director and is the portfolio manager of the Harvest Technology Partners hedge fund strategy.
Prior to joining Harvest Capital Strategies, Kurt was a senior managing director and senior equity research analyst at Banc of America Securities and its predecessor, Montgomery Securities, where he covered the PC and enterprise hardware sector from 1994 to 2001. In 1998, he was named an All-Star Analyst by The Wall Street Journal in its annual survey of equity research analysts. Before commencing his financial services career, Kurt spent nine years working in the technology industry at Toshiba America, Grid Systems and Xerox Corporation.
Kurt holds an MBA from Columbia University and a BA from University of California, Los Angeles.

Bruce Mosbacher is a Managing Director at Harvest Capital Strategies and serves as co-portfolio manager of the JMP Masters fund.
Bruce was formerly a founding member of Saw Island Asset Advisors, an alternative investment firm specializing in hedge fund investments that was acquired by Harvest Capital Strategies in 2003. He was admitted to the practice of law in California in 1979 and has been an attorney with the firms of Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati and Gaston Snow & Ely Bartlett. Additionally, Bruce has served on the board of directors of a number of publicly traded and privately held corporations.
Bruce holds a JD from Stanford law School and a BA from Stanford University.
David A. ShapiroManaging Director
David A. Shapiro
David Shapiro is a Managing Director at Harvest Capital Strategies and is responsible for researching real estate, lodging, gaming and other asset-based industries.
Prior to joining Harvest Capital Strategies, David was the portfolio manager of the Seneca Real Estate Securities Fund for Seneca Capital Management. He was previously a senior advisor to Riverbank America, the former East River Savings Bank, and served as head of west coast investment for the ADCO Group. Additionally, David is currently a principal of Asset Holdings Group, a mortgage investment company, and has developed and financed in excess of $1 billion of commercial real estate during his career. He is also co-chairman of RB Asset, a real estate holding company.
David holds a JD from the University of Arizona College of Law and a BA from Columbia University.
Kelly D. WiesbrockManaging Director
Kelly D. Wiesbrock
Kelly Wiesbrock joined Harvest Capital Strategies in 2005. He is a Managing Director and is the portfolio manager of the Harvest Agriculture Select hedge fund strategy.
From 2000 to 2005, Kelly worked at Ascend Capital, a San Francisco-based long/short equity hedge fund manager, where he was responsible for consumer and business services investments. Prior to starting his investment career, Kelly was a divisional chief financial officer for Purina Mills. Beforehand, he focused on distressed consumer companies as a management consultant at Deloitte Consulting and served as an operations engineer for Frito-Lay.
Kelly holds an MBA from Harvard University and a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois.
