    Rich Buckanavage is President and Chief Executive Officer of Harvest Capital Credit.

    Rich was previously co-founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Patriot Capital Funding, Inc., a publicly traded BDC focused on the lower middle market that closed 51 platform investments consisting of senior and junior secured loans, mezzanine debt and minority equity capital totaling approximately $525 million. Prior to founding Patriot Capital Funding, he held several positions with GE Capital Corporation between 1999 and 2003, most recently as a Managing Director and head of debt capital markets with responsibility for all U.S. debt syndication and private placement activities for GE’s middle-market global sponsor finance and commercial finance business units.

    From 1995 to 1999, Rich was a Senior Vice President and midwest region manager for Creditanstalt Corporate Finance, Inc. (“CCFI”). During that time, he was also a senior investment officer at Creditanstalt Small Business Investment Corporation (“CSBIC”), CCFI’s private equity unit that originated and managed a portfolio of non-controlling equity investments. Together, CCFI and CSBIC acted as a “one-stop” capital provider focused on making investments in middle-market companies in conjunction with private equity sponsors. In his capacities at CCFI and CSBIC, Rich managed a portfolio of senior secured loans, subordinated debt and equity investments valued at more than $1.2 billion. While at CSBIC, Rich was also a member of the board of directors of several of CSBIC’s portfolio companies.

    Rich’s professional experience also includes various business development and portfolio management roles in the leveraged finance groups at Bank of America as well as Fleet Bank and its predecessors. He holds an MBA from Syracuse University and a BS from Central Connecticut University.

    Craig Kitchin serves as Chief Financial Officer of Harvest Capital Credit. In addition, he is Chief Financial Officer of JMP Credit Advisors.

    Craig joined the predecessor to JMP Credit Advisors, Cratos Capital Partners, as Chief Financial Officer shortly after its inception in 2006. At both Harvest Capital Credit and JMP Credit Advisors, he is responsible for the administrative aspects of the business, including capital raising, financial reporting, loan operations, accounting, tax and human resources. From 1992 to 2006, Craig served in various capacities at Jameson Inns, Inc., a publicly traded hotel company with approximately 1,700 employees and more than 100 properties. From 1998 to 2006, he was President, Chief Financial Officer and a member of the company’s board of directors. While at Jameson, he oversaw the company’s initial public offering as well as many subsequent debt and equity offerings.

    Craig holds an MBA with concentrations in accounting and finance from the University of Chicago and a BS degree in finance from Santa Clara University.

    Ryan Magee is a director at Harvest Capital Credit, where he leads the private equity lending practice.

    Before joining Harvest Capital Credit, Ryan was a vice president at Patriot Capital Funding, Inc., a publicly traded business development company focused on the lower middle market. He joined Patriot Capital in 2005 and was influential in growing the investment portfolio to approximately 40 platform investments and $400 million at its peak. Ryan previously worked in GE Capital Corporation’s global sponsor finance unit, where he was responsible for underwriting, monitoring and working out a portfolio of private equity-sponsored debt and equity investments.

    Ryan holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from Bucknell University.

    Jeremy Phipps is a Director and investment manager at Harvest Capital Credit. Additionally, he holds the same positions at JMP Credit Advisors.

    Jeremy is responsible for analyzing, recommending and managing senior and subordinated loans. He has more than ten years of experience in commercial lending, providing both senior and junior debt products. Prior to joining the predecessor to JMP Credit Advisors, Cratos Capital Partners, Jeremy spent six years at Wells Fargo Foothill, Inc., most recently serving as a vice president in a business development role in the southeast and previously working in the underwriting, portfolio management and audit departments.

    Jeremy holds a BA in finance from the University of Florida.

    Douglas Lancey is an associate at Harvest Capital Credit, working in the private equity lending group. 

    Before joining Harvest Capital Credit, Doug worked at Evolution Media Capital, an investment banking firm providing M&A advisory services to the professional sports, media and entertainment industries.  He previously served as an associate at HighPoint Capital, where he participated in the origination, structuring and execution of senior and second lien loans in support of private equity-sponsored leveraged buyouts.  He began his career at NewStar Financial as an analyst in the originations group.

    Doug holds an MBA from the Fordham University Graduate School of Business. During his tenure at Fordham, he also studied at China’s Peking University as part of the Beijing International MBA program. He holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts.
