Jeff Osher joined Harvest Capital Strategies in August 2002. He is a Managing Director and the portfolio manager of Harvest Small Cap Partners Fund.
Jeff has been the recipient of numerous industry performance awards, including the 2008 Hedge Fund Intelligence Absolute Return Award in the Small Cap Equity category, the 2014 award in the Specialist Equity category, and the 2016 award in the Long Term Performance – 10 Years category. He also received the 2009 HFM Week Performance Award in the Long/Short Equity category and the 2009 Lipper Award for Best 3-Year Long/Short Equity Fund. Additionally, Jeff was a final nominee for the 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2016 HFM Week Absolute Return Award in the Specialist Equity category, the 2013 and 2014 award in the Long/Short US Market Neutral category, and the 2015 Absolute Return Award in the Long Term – 10 Years category.
Jeff has been highlighted by HFM Week (“The Real Winners of 2008,” December 18th, 2008, Issue 132), Barclay Managed Funds Report (“Barclay Roundtable,” 3rd Quarter 2009 edition), Absolute Return Magazine (November 2009), The Financial Times (“Five Funds That Show What the Sector Does Best,” December 5, 2011), and Barron’s (“A Hedge Fund Thrives by Sensing Danger,” September 26, 2015). Barron’s ranked Harvest Small Cap Partners Fund 27th in the 2010 edition of the Top 100 Hedge Funds, 81st in the 2015 edition and 46th in the 2016 edition. Bloomberg Markets ranked the fund 35th among mid-size hedge funds in its 2012 special issue, “The World’s 100 Richest Hedge Funds,” and ranked the fund 6th in its 2015 special issue. In 2014 and 2016, Jeff was a keynote speaker at the Ira Sohn Conference held in San Francisco.
Prior to joining Harvest Capital Strategies, Jeff was an analyst at The Dowd Company, where he focused on technology and emerging growth companies. He previously worked in equity research at Montgomery Securities.
Jeff holds a BA in political science and history from Miami University of Ohio.
