David Trone is a Managing Director and senior research analyst covering the investment banking and brokerage industry.

Prior to joining JMP, David was a Managing Director and senior equity analyst at Fox-Pitt Kelton Cochran Caronia Waller and its successor, Macquarie Capital (USA), where he was head of commercial and investment bank research. David previously served as a research analyst at Prudential Equity Group, where he covered broker-dealers and mid-cap banks, and at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he focused on mid-cap banks and mortgage finance.

David holds an MBA from The Robert H. Smith School of Business at University of Maryland.
